About Me

I’m Samira Alam, a Registered Psychotherapist based in Toronto, Ontario, here to guide you through life’s most complex and difficult matters. I believe that therapy is a collaborative journey of self-growth, emotional healing, and resilience, and I am committed to providing services tailored to your unique needs and experiences.
My educational background includes a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Toronto, a Post-Graduate Diploma in Social Service Work, and a Master of Arts (MA) in Counselling Psychology. I am currently pursuing a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (PsyD) to deepen my expertise and strengthen the care I offer. I am registered with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) and am a member of the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA).
Specializing in faith-centered, trauma-informed therapy for Muslim clients, I offer a compassionate and culturally sensitive space where you can explore your mental health while honoring your spiritual values. Whether you’re struggling with anxiety, depression, stress, emotion regulation, relationship and interpersonal challenges, low self-esteem, or major life transitions, you are not alone. Together, we will work to strengthen your self-awareness, nurture self-compassion, and heal patterns of self-criticism, so you can move forward with greater clarity, confidence, and peace.
I provide online therapy for clients across Ontario, making it easier for you to access support from the comfort of your own space.
My work is also shaped by over nine years of experience in the non-profit sector, where I supported youth, isolated women, and newcomers to Canada. These experiences have deepened my understanding of the complex challenges individuals face and strengthened my commitment to offering therapy that respects, empowers, and uplifts clients from all walks of life.
Outside of my work, I find joy in spending time with loved ones, dining out, exercising, traveling, and connecting with nature. I also love journalling, reading and listening to podcasts and audiobooks that inspire both personal and spiritual growth.
If you’re ready to begin your healing journey, I’m here to offer a warm, faith-centered space where you can feel supported, seen, and understood. I invite you to reach out to learn more or to schedule a consultation.
