About Me

I’m Samira Alam, a Registered Psychotherapist based in Toronto, Ontario. I support adults through a number of life’s challenges with care, compassion, and curiosity. I help you understand yourself more deeply and find steadier ground within.
I see therapy as a shared journey. It's a space to slow down, explore your story, and begin healing with gentleness and intention. My approach is grounded, faith-sensitive, and tailored to your unique experiences and pace.
Like many of my clients, my own healing began almost a decade ago. I met many therapists along the way, each offered something helpful, yet something always felt missing. When I finally began trauma-focused therapy, I found deep relief, but my faith was still left outside the room. That experience shaped how I practice today. I became the therapist I once needed: someone who could hold both trauma and faith with equal care.
Many of the people I work with are thoughtful, high-achieving, and caring individuals, often the ones others depend on. Yet inside, they carry the weight of perfectionism, people-pleasing, and self-doubt. They show up for everyone else but struggle to offer themselves the same kindness. Whether you’re feeling anxious, low, burnt out, or disconnected from yourself, you don’t have to face it alone. Together, we’ll explore what’s beneath the patterns, develop self-compassion, and support your healing so you can move forward with greater clarity and peace.
I hold a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Toronto, a Post-Graduate Diploma in Social Service Work, and a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology. I’m also currently pursuing a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (PsyD) to deepen my knowledge and strengthen the care I offer to my clients. I’m registered with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) and a member of the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA).
My work integrates trauma-informed and faith-centered care for Muslim clients seeking therapy that considers both mental health and spiritual growth. I provide online therapy, allowing you to access support from the comfort of your own space.
Before opening my private practice, I spent over nine years in the non-profit sector supporting youth, isolated women, and newcomers to Canada. These experiences have deepened my understanding of the complex challenges people face and shaped my commitment to offering therapy that uplifts and empowers.
Outside of my work, I find joy in spending time with loved ones, traveling, dining out, exercising, and connecting in nature. I also love journalling, reading, and listening to podcasts that inspire both personal, professional, as well as spiritual growth.
If you’re ready to begin your healing journey, I offer a warm, faith-integrated space where you can feel supported, seen, and understood. Book your free consultation today to see how I can support you.
