THE APPROACH
My Approach
Therapy begins with understanding what brings you here, the experiences that have shaped you and what you would like to be different.
My approach is client-centred, trauma-informed and integrative, grounded in my clinical education and specialized training in trauma therapy and Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy (EFIT). Sessions are collaborative, and we check in regularly about what is helping and what needs to change. Rather than applying one model to everyone, I draw on different methods where they suit your needs.
METHODS
What our work may draw on
Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy (EFIT)
Slowing down to understand emotions, the needs beneath them and how they shape your relationships.
Attachment-based work
Exploring how earlier relationships influence the way you connect, trust and protect yourself now.
Somatic approaches
Noticing what happens in your body under stress and practising ways to steady yourself.
IFS-informed work
Getting to know different parts of you, including the ones that push, protect or shut down.
CBT and mindfulness
Working with thought patterns and building present-moment awareness.
Solution-Focused Therapy
Identifying what is already working and the practical next steps.
TRAUMA CARE
The body’s part in it
Somatic work and nervous system regulation are central to how I approach trauma. We notice how stress shows up for you, whether as tension, feeling on edge or feeling disconnected, and practise ways to regulate those responses, process emotion and build a steadier sense of safety and choice. This work follows your comfort and readiness.
FAITH AND CULTURE
Room for all of your life
For Muslim clients, I understand how identity, Islamic values, family expectations and cultural experiences can shape emotional wellbeing. My formal studies of the Qur’an inform that understanding. They sit alongside evidence-informed psychotherapy rather than replacing it. Faith becomes part of our work only if and when you choose. I provide psychotherapy and don’t answer religious questions, offer rulings or give fatwas.
PACE
You set the pace
You remain part of every decision. We work at a pace that respects your comfort, with attention to both your immediate concerns and the wider picture.
